Apparently, scientists are modifying plants to suck a common US groundwater toxin ,and the explosive residue RDX from military bomb testing. The test plants are metabolizing at a much faster rate than normal plants.
There is a discussion of controlled tests in partnership with the EPA’s Superfund program. After all, we wouldn’t want to wipe out indigenous species.
The genetically modified plants could do the job of environmental cleanup faster and more efficiently than industrial methods.
